Melodia and Harmonia Teaching Assistant

The PGC Melodia and Harmonia Teaching Assistant is an integral part of our artistic team. The Harmonia Teaching Assistant is responsible for assisting our choirs for K-5th graders. The Melodia/Harmonia Teaching Assistant will be expected to work closely with the Melodia/Harmonia Choral Educator at all rehearsals, concerts, and events. 

The ideal candidate will:

• Enjoy working with children, specifically K-5th graders
• Have a positive and playful approach to music learning 
• Have intermediate piano skills 
• Have knowledge of Solfege (movable doh) 
• Have vocal skills including:
  • Healthy vocal production
  • Good intonation
  • Ability to sing with head voice
  • Be able to model well for children 
• Be available during rehearsals, 5:00 – 8:00pm on Tuesday evenings 
• Be available during concerts and dress rehearsals 
• Be willing and able to obtain necessary clearances 

Required Documentation: 

Standard costs for clearances will be covered by the PGC upon successful clearance certification.

• PA State Criminal Records Check
• PA Child Abuse History Clearance
• FBI Fingerprint Clearance

The Melodia and Harmonia Choral Assistant receives a stipend for the Sept-May season.
